Before you get started, I know this paragraph looks like a lot, but it's not. If you want to get into anime, please just read it, you will enjoy it.
I've met a lot of people who don't like anime and tend to hate
on it. It's perfectly okay to not like something, but from what I see,
they are mostly just judging a book by its cover. Anime is a big, BIG,
umbrella term used to describe Japanese animation. Inside of that
umbrella are many branches. These branches also can be categorized
differently: different animation styles, different story genres,
different character types, etc. Once you try a few animes, you'll get
a sense for what design aesthetic you find the most pretty and what
genre you find matches you the most. My point is, just try a lot of
different things. On the Featured Animes page, you can find some great
animes to watch if you're intermediate or just really like what you
see on this website. However, I really reccomend starting out with a
Shonen (Action) anime, because it's very popular and also very
exciting. The first anime I watched was Naruto and Naruto Shippuden
(they're kinda one anime but also two), and I would definitely
reccomend starting with that. I also liked Hunter X Hunter and Demon
Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). In terms of slice of life, Shinkai and Miyazaki (which is kinda
fantasy really) are great. Finally, romance anime. In my opinion, talking about romance anime is kind of
cursed because the whole plot is just romantic appeal, and it's really hard to not sound weird while
referring to said plot because it's just romantic appeal. Regardless, I've watched some like
Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta YarÅ) and Toradora, which were good. Side note: Bunny Girl Senpai has amazing scenery,
but I was afraid to include it on the main pages because I would look weird. Anyways, good luck starting your anime
journey to the few people who actually read this!
